We wish you a healthy and peaceful Easter despite the somewhat surreal reality in which we all found ourselves, while deeply believing in the imminent improvement of the situation.

At the beginning of February, our wallpapers and other wall decorations could be admired during the 4 Design Days trade fair in Katowice, at the stand of “Mazagyn Wnętrz”, our distributor.

We were invited by Ewa Mierzejewska to participate in the second edition of the „Valuable because Polish” exhibition, which was held as part of Warsaw Home 2019. We presented there fabrics for the first time with our design, a new collection of ceramics designed by Kasia Olechnicka and of course wallpapers.

At the turn of January and February we took part in one of the largest interior design fairs in South America, ABIMAD, where, together with our Brazilian partner, Tapetah, we presented a joint collection of „Echoes” rugs.

On January 31, the evening dedicated to the work of Franciszek Michałek took place in the beautiful interiors of the Tapetah Gallery in Sao Paulo. We present a short report on this event, which was honored by the presence of the excellent director Andrzej Bukowiński, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Sao Paulo.

Wallpaper „Congo” (designed by Piotr Michałek, 2017) a finalist of the Good Design 2018 competition organized by the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw.

Our two projects, „Congo” and „Girls from the beach” were nominated by the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw for the „Good Design 2018” competition for the best designed products in Poland.

They used to decorate sanatoriums, cafes, office buildings, hotels and cinemas. Piotr Michałek (FREZO) talks about modern, original wallpapers that revive wall paintings popular in the times of the PRL. There is a family history in the FREZO designs.

On October 26, at the hands of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, we received the „Pattern of the Year for Culture” award for our wallpapers inspired by murals from the PRL period.

On Saturday (7 October), during the Must Have gala at the Lodz Design Festival, we received this beautiful porcelain statuette. Must Have is one of the most prestigious awards for Polish designers.

A few snapshots from the Must Have and Łódź Design Festival exhibitions, which are unfortunately already behind us. Meanwhile, we are preparing for another exhibition, this time in Warsaw at the Institute of Industrial Design, where you will also be able to admire our wallpaper.

Our adaptations of wall paintings from half a century ago were appreciated by the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw and were among the finalists of the „Good Design 2017” competition.

We are pleased to inform you that the „Magical Forest” wallpaper collection, which was created based on designs and sketches by Franciszek Michałek, received the Must Have 2017 mark awarded by the Łódź Design Festival.

Wallpaper „Deep Secret” (designed by Piotr Michałek) was nominated for the „Good Design 2017” competition organized by the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw.

Once again, we were invited by Ewa Mierzejewska to participate in an event important for Polish design, Design Zone 2017. The event was held at the Business Club at the PGE National. We present a short photo report of this event.

Franciszek Michałek is one of the most interesting figures of the post-war art scene of Toruń and Bydgoszcz. His forgotten wall paintings, decorating interiors of sanatoriums, restaurants and public buildings in 1950 – 1980, and wallpapers inspired by them, will be brought back to the consciousness of today’s recipient during this year’s edition of the Gdynia Design Days 2016 festival.
